Who we are

Focus Tycoon (“we”, “us”) is a focus, habit and screen-time app currently in pre-launch. This policy covers two things: the waitlist on this website today, and the Focus Tycoon app when it ships on iOS and Android. Where a section applies only to one, we say so.

What we collect

The waitlist (today)

  • Your email address, which you submit to join the waitlist.
  • Basic request metadata sent automatically by your browser — referring page, user-agent string, language/locale, and the time you signed up. We use this to understand where sign-ups come from and to reduce spam.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers on this site, and we do not require a cookie-consent banner because we do not set non-essential cookies.

The app (at launch)

  • Account information. The app uses Sign in with Apple or Google only. We receive an account identifier and, depending on your choices, your name and email. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
  • Focus and habit data you create — routes, sessions, habit routines and detox logs, streaks, Metro Miles, XP, ranks, personal goals and stats.
  • Optional screen-time data. If you enable it, Focus Tycoon uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) to power reclaimed-time insights and to block distracting apps during a focus session. This data is processed on your device by the system and is not sent to us. It is optional and off by default.
  • Optional Apple Health data. If you grant access, the app reads workouts, distance and heart rate to enrich your fitness stats, and writes your completed sessions back to Apple Health (breathing and mindfulness sessions as Mindful Minutes, training sessions as workouts — only the session type and its start and end times). Health data stays on your device, is excluded from cloud backups, and is never used for advertising. It is optional and off by default.
  • Optional progress photos and body measurements. The Body Progress Log lets you attach photos (from the camera or your photo library) and record measurements such as weight. Progress photos stay on your device and are never uploaded to us.
  • Motion data. During strict-mode sessions the app reads device motion to detect when the phone is being moved and apply the focus penalty. This is processed on your device.
  • Notifications. With your permission, we send local and push notifications (session reminders, streak nudges, Live Activities).
  • Purchases. Subscriptions (Focus Tycoon Pro) are processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements and receive subscription status — not your card details.
  • Diagnostics and usage analytics. If you opt in, we collect privacy-respecting, aggregated crash reports and usage analytics to fix problems and improve the app. This is off unless you agree to it, and it never includes your progress photos or Apple Health data.

Some of the most sensitive data — your Apple Health records, progress photos, device motion and Screen Time details — is processed only on your device. It is not sent to our servers and is excluded from cloud backup.

How we use it

  • To send you one launch email (waitlist) and product updates you opt into.
  • To provide the app: save your routes, sessions, habits, ranks and stats across your devices.
  • To operate subscriptions and restore purchases.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • To understand and improve how the product is used.

Our legal bases include your consent (waitlist email, optional screen-time), performance of a contract (running the app you signed into), and our legitimate interests (security, product improvement).

Where your data lives, and who processes it

We keep the number of processors small and name them plainly:

  • Supabase — database and backend hosting (waitlist and, at launch, your account data).
  • Cloudflare — website hosting, the waitlist API, and spam protection (Turnstile).
  • Apple and Google — sign-in and app-store billing; Apple also provides Screen Time and Apple Health, both processed on your device.
  • RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management.
  • PostHog — privacy-respecting, aggregated product analytics (only if you opt in).
  • Sentry — crash and error diagnostics (only if you opt in).

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and data terms. Some are based in, or transfer data to, the United States and other countries; where required we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist email: until you ask us to remove it, or a reasonable period after launch if you never create an account.
  • Account data: for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or financial reasons.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We share data only with the processors listed above, or when legally required to.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email privacy@focustycoon.app. You can also remove your account and data yourself — see our data deletion page. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Children

Focus Tycoon is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

Server-side secrets are never exposed to your browser, data is encrypted in transit, and access to production systems is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

App-store privacy labels

The categories above map to Apple's “Privacy Nutrition Label” and Google Play's “Data Safety” disclosures. We aim to keep those store listings consistent with this policy.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email.
